THE DX AUDIO SERVICE
DXAS operated from 1985 to 2015 as an aural service for Blind Listeners who found AM Radio to be a connection with distant parts of the world not within practical reach. Monthly columns included updates on FCC activity, call-letter changes and other information that made their dial-scanning a bit more accessible.
Among the columns was a segment devoted to interviews of people behind the scenes in radio transmission. These interviews were generally of a technical nature. Also requested and provided below were radio market histories and stories on station developments.
This page provides a few of those audio reports and interviews; each trying to meet the challenge of using the spoken word to create pictures.
Other segments will be added regularly.
